December Projects

December has been a productive month with lots of Prayer Shawls and Socks For Soldiers plus several wash cloths for gifts thrown into the mix.

The Fiesta Prayer Shawl was a special request and it came out exactly as I had hoped. Also was able to make several baby Prayer blankets, using up odds and ends of yarn.

I am using up my many odds and ends of sock yarn into a patchwork quilt. It is a long time project, but I like the way it is growing. I hadn't realized how many socks I have made until I began to gather up several bags of odds and ends of yarn.

I am especially pleased with a new triangular shawl pattern that uses one skein of most worsted yarns and makes up beautifully. It is self fringing and that pleases me as I hate the finishing touches.

My big project this month was to organize my yarn into wire box shelves that I found at a yard sale. I still have three plastic boxes to empty but now I see exactly how much yarn I have and have promised not to buy any more yarn (except black for Socks for Soldiers) until it will fit on the shelf space I have.
